Could there be a better time for us to announce this exciting new way to help Friends provide the needed support for the Haven programs?!
This year Amazon got on the philanthropy bandwagon with their Amazon Smile initiative. We are excited! When you shop at www.smile.amazon.com you get the same great selection of items to choose from AND .5% of your purchase goes to “a charity of your choosing”. When you visit the site, just select Friends of the Haven charity under the Your Account tab.
Yes, we know .5% is not that much… but every little bit helps. Take this for example, if 20 of our wonderful newsletter subscribers and donors spent $200 on gifts or items for themselves during the Holiday Season, Amazon would send us a check for $20. $20 would pay for formula for one baby for a week. Better yet… Friends of the Haven has over 2000 people on our mailing list. If all 2000 spent $100, Amazon would send us a check for $1000!
