Keynote Speaker:
Christopher Kennedy Lawford spent 20 years in the film and television
industries as an actor, lawyer, executive and producer. He is
also a New York Times best-selling author on the topic of Recovery.
In recovery himself for more than 26 years from drug addiction,
Kennedy Lawford campaigns tirelessly on behalf of the recovery
community in both the public and private sectors. He currently
works with the United Nations, the Canadian Center on Substance
Abuse, the White House Office on Drug Control Policy, and the
World Health Organization. He also consults with Fortune 500
companies and numerous nonprofit groups, speaking around the
world on issues related to addiction and mental health.
Emcee:
Laurie Dhue is a New York City-based TV broadcaster and media strategist. She is the lead news anchor at TheBlaze TV and Founder and President of her own consultancy, Laurie Dhue Media. Before that she had an impressive career as anchor on CNN, FoxNews, MSNBC, and NBC. As a person in long-term recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction, Ms. Dhue has worked with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), is a member of Caron Foundation’s New York Advisory Board and the Board of the National Youth Recovery Foundation, travels nationally as a recovery advocate for Faces and Voices of Recovery (FAVOR), Caron, Hazelden, and The Betty Ford Center.
Honoree:
As the Former Director of The Haven program, Julie worked tirelessly to bring the vision of improving the lives of the babies born to women in treatment at the The Haven to fruition through an early learning center on the Fort Logan Campus. It was her vision and fortitude, along with Bill Winn and many donors, that build the Baby Haven! This year we are thrilled to be holding the first pre-school graduation for the children the Baby Haven. Julie has just been appointed to Colorado Department of Human Services as Deputy Executive Director for Community Partnerships. Come learn more about Julie and her passion for families.
