Brooke Sommers has been planning meetings for over 20 years and is currently focusing on Strategic Meetings Management and the value of meetings and events for corporations. She has her own consulting business, Strategic Conferences & Events, LLC.
Brooke left Sun Microsystems after over 12 years, 9 of which were with StorageTek prior to their acquisition by Sun. The events team at StorageTek managed 300 meetings and events per year, ranging from 10 people to 1200 people. At Sun Brooke project managed the sales events for North America with groups ranging from 300 – 3000 people. She thrives on pulling together teams consisting of internal marketing, content developers, third party logistics and production companies to deliver a strong strategic event that will drive results and grow the business.
Her biggest and most important passion is incorporating Corporate Social Responsibility into each and every meeting she and her team plan. Giving back to the local community where an event is being hosted is the easiest and most rewarding part of meeting and event planning.
More importantly Brooke loves spending time with her family, husband Todd, daughters Ellie (12) and Gracie (11) and dog Hanna.
