At its inception, the Friends of the Haven Rising Star Award was a representation of the hope the Haven gives to women struggling with addiction, the promise of families re-uniting, and the ability to stay in recovery. This award today means even more. Over the last four years women who exemplify and illustrate with their lives the commitment to recovery and changing the stigmas attached with the disease of addiction have received this designation.
2015 ushers in a new look at how addiction and mental health disorders impact families and communities. Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close friends all effect the lives of our children and the environment in which they are encouraged to achieve their greatest potential. In recognizing this, Friends of the Haven is thrilled to be honoring a Haven Rising Star and a Peer One Rising Star!
