Thank you for considering a donation to Friends of the Haven.
Past support from very generous donors, like you, has allowed us to build a new Baby Haven, which opened in 2011; fund mental health counselors; remodel the 1880s buildings around the Fort Logan Campus; establish an education endowment to provide academic scholarships for graduates of the Haven programs; and to meet many ongoing program needs for the The Haven and The Baby Haven. We cannot continue to help women struggling with substance use and mental health disorders or their children without your support. THANK YOU!
Although the Haven works with a variety of public and private funding sources, women with unique situations continue to fall through the cracks. They need financial assistance throughout their treatment.

General Operating Support
We need unrestricted funds to enable us to direct monies toward the greatest need at any given moment. Planned Gifts
- Stocks: Donating long-term appreciated securities directly to Friends of the Haven, rather than selling assets and then donating the cash proceeds, is one of the best and easiest ways for you to make a larger impact! By taking advantage of the applicable tax incentives, you can realize significant savings and increase the amount of funds available for charitable giving. We have partnered with Raymond James to manage our stock transfer account.
- Charitable Bequest: A bequest is one of the easiest gifts you can make to significantly impact our work. Your estate planning expert can include a provision in your will that leaves a lasting gift. It costs nothing to make a bequest and it is free from federal income tax. It can be changed if your circumstances change and most importantly- You create a legacy through a bequest.
- Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD): If you are 70 and 1/2 years old, you can give tax free distributions from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA)!
Please contact Bill Winn for more information and to further discuss the benefits and opportunities for Planned Giving.
